Anika Shethia

Hello! My name is Anika and I am a rising sophomore in high school. I have loved to bake since a young age and I am excited to track my baking adventures, both successes and fails, tips and warnings, right here. Being an amateur baker sharing my stories may help you as a beginner find that baking is not exclusively for expert pastry chefs, but rather anyone abundant in determination and creativity. Besides baking, I enjoy reading, biking, and spending time with family and friends. I started this website in the summer of 2020 when the world was struck by chaos, hoping that others, like myself, may find comfort in freshly baked confectioneries.

Noting the important time that  marks the origin of my blog, I will be using this page to educate and inform on how to be an ally to global social justice movements. I will update with resources, opinion pieces, and other activism information. I hope to be able to spread awareness on important issues that plague our world and call for change in a delicious way! This website is meant to branch communities of baking and activism, hence the name Baking Bridges. I also make homemade custom orders for the greater Houston area, with all profits benefiting incredible nonprofits. Check out the tab "Order Now" for more information on how to purchase custom desserts.

Note: I do not create all of my recipes. Some of my recipes are adapted from other creators that I have credited. If a recipe that I try was not my own, the original recipe will be linked.
